Since its inception in 2007, AVARY’s Teen Leadership Board has made it mission to use their “knowledge and experience as AVARY campers, to make AVARY a better place.” 

During Summer Camp last year, teens from the Leadership Board hosted representatives from both the Omnia and Kalliopeia foundations, showing these funders around and giving them a youth perspective on what we do at AVARY.  The tour was a great success. 

We're pleased to announce that this February, the Leadership Board continued its commitment to fundraising for AVARY by applying for its first grant!  The grant, submitted the San Francisco Jewish Community Teen Foundation, requested support for a teen-designed program to increase nutritional education and knowledge among AVARY youth. 

Special thanks to Lena M., Monica G., and Will M. for writing sections of the proposal.  We had so much fun just applying for this grant, we are already looking into other grant applications!
