About Project Avary:
Project Avary's mission is to cultivate a community of support for Bay Area youth whose parents are in prison or jail. Avary targets pre-adolescent children and works with them through young adulthood, ideally over a course of ten years. Staff become resources and positive role models for youth in the program. Year-round activities include mentoring, family support, monthly outings, a leadership program for teens that includes outings such as whitewater rafting, sailing and job training.
